Camp

God is faithful. Fortunately I got a crazy idea to illustrate the gospel with five famous Superheroes. Following the camp theme this year of the olympics, each one of these Superheroes raced against volunteers each day. Superman lost because one of the racers had kryptonite. Kryptonite was Supermans weakness just like we have a weakness called sin. Batman lost the race because he took off after a boy who stole a purse from a girl in the audience. Batman wanted justice just like God wants justice, so Jesus died for our sins to bring justice and the gift of salvation. Spiderman lost the race because a referee told us that you can't compete in the Olympics with a mask on your face. Spiderman wore a mask that he refused to remove, we must remove our mask, ask Jesus into our heart and know that Jesus loves us just the way we are. Yoda won the race because he used the force and froze his competitors feet to the ground. Yoda used the force like we must rely on the power of the Holy Spirit to become like Christ. A five year old little girl who represented a Christian won the race against a U of O football player and a computer genius because the race represented how far you have run the race with Christ and her competitors did not have Jesus in their heart. The little girl illustrated that God can use anyone powerfully at any of any age. With God all things are possible.

Excellent illustrations Curtis. I didn't know you had a blog (probably not NEARLY as entertaining as Linda's) but will check in on you often.

Have I ever thanked you for teaching my sweet Jordan when he was a kiddo? He's 17 and a remarkable young man now. God is working in his life this summer and it's so exciting to watch!

Curtis,

Thanks so much for doing such an awesome job with the kiddos at First B and providing such great illustrations at Camp Harlow. My twin sis and I sent all 5 of our kiddos out there - and they loved it. Way to go!
